Minimalist Floral decorations that scream Elegance!

While most people dream about a big, fat Indian wedding, there are few who want their day to be as simple as it can be.  The trend of a simple wedding is spreading like wildfire these days, all thanks to Covid-19.  Finally people are accepting the mantra, ‘less is more’ and that simplicity depicts elegance. The scenario has really brought out the creativity in people, especially the couples who got married during lockdown.  From diy Mehendi decor to handmade invitation cards, Indian weddings have definitely come a long way.

Moreover, these days’ people have become more conscious about their excessive consumption and its harmful effects on the environment. Minimalism is the new way of living that not only keeps the environment safe but also your bank account. A minimalist wedding surely is a win-win situation as it’s not only easy on the profit but also creative and fun.

Monochromatic theme

If you want to keep your wedding aesthetic, monochromatic themes work the best. This kind of decor has a lot more to offer. It’s definitely not going to be white, dull and boring- if that’s what you are thinking.  You can play with darker tones of purple, orange and even blue. Make sure to use different shades of the same color to add some personality to the decor.   Look up to Anushka and Virat’s wedding for inspiration.  The wedding really set the standards high but you can surely recreate it even if your budget is tight. Lavender, pink roses and white peonies can be used to recreate the decor of the most talked -about wedding of the decade.

Simple Mandaps

Instead of using a full fledged stage you can make a mandap by attaching four logs in a square.  Decorate the corners with a bunch of flowers  and tie matching fabric from the top of the Mandap.  You can also hang flowers via  strings from the roof of the Mandap. Such a setup will cost you nothing!  Also the wedding ceremony is more visible to the guests. Their focus remains on the couple as gaudy and over-the-top decorations often distracts  the spectators. You can get good pictures in this setup that are aesthetic and beautiful.

Flower Swings

If you are having an outdoor wedding you can easily make a swing in the open. Your extra flowers can be used here and you will also get one cooler spot for a photo shoot. Decorate the strings with flowers and leaves or you can also add a ring of flowers to make the swing round.  I love the idea of a flower swing instead of a big stage in ceremonies like haldi or mehendi. The swing can be decorated with marigolds in this case. Also don’t forget to add candles and lanterns if it’s an evening affair.

Simplicity  is the answer if you want something out of the box. Moreover,  you can spend more time in the ceremony instead of arranging or decorating it if you go with the minimalist theme as it reduces the work nearly to half without compromising on the quality.  Simple decorations are efficient and eco-friendly as well, so plan your wedding accordingly if you want it to be simple yet elegant
