India is a diverse nation. There are thousands of flowers. We at this point haven’t even witnessed half of those flowers. Many are waiting for their discovery. Most of the time we talk about those flowers that are very common and there is a reason for that. We know about them so we talk about them. But from now onwards you are going to talk about rare flowers as well because, In this blog, we will make you aware of some rare flowers that are found in India.

 

Lobster Claw

Just look at the name of this flower. Lobster claw! I mean seriously! This is a tropical flower that looks like the claw of a lobster. The name and appearance are not the only things that are different, the place from where it originates will amaze you as well. Lobster claw originates from leaves that are similar to bananas.

 

A Flower named after an animal originates from leaves that look like fruit. Amazing, welcome to nature!

 

Palash Tree

Next comes the state flower of Jharkhand. Many of you know this flora as the flame tree. Both the Palash tree and flame tree are the same. Having a tree in its name, why is it categorized as a flower? I guess this question has come to your mind.

 

The answer is due to its floral properties. Its color is bright and blooms like a flower. The size of this tree is medium and is very prestigious. Festivals like Holi are incomplete without these flowers as we get color powder from this tree. Every part of this flora is important. From leaves to gum, it has uses in every field including commercial as well as religious.

 

Tuberose

Flowers and fragrances are made for each other. This line applies to tuberose. It is not bragging, tuberose is used in the perfume industry and even it is used in households to have a pleasant smell.

 

Not just the perfume industry, it has a presence in the oil industry as well. Oils containing tuberose claim to counter stressful situations. The oil containing tuberose flowers can relieve all physical stress and can keep you calm. Guess I have to give it a try.

 

Sironi Lily

Mysteries! After movies, ancient temples, and strange places now it’s time for flowers to have mysteries. We do not know the exact mystery but there are several theories behind its origin. The petals of this plant are pink but under a microscope, there are seven colors. Guess it does have a mystery. We will let you know as soon as we get any information. 

 

Flowers, fragrance, and let me add one more word i.e. medicinal properties. Almost every flower has medicinal properties with them and so does Sironi Lili. You can use it for the treatment of stomach and skin-related problems.

 

Magenta Ghost Flower

The first mystery, now ghosts. What’s happening? Well, here we know why it is called a ghost flower. This flower was there in 1013, almost 30 years before independence. Then suddenly it disappeared i.e. it became a ghost. After around 90 years at Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary located in Anamalai near Polachi, this rare parasite flower was rediscovered. It lacks chlorophyll and is a parasite.

 

Rebe

This flower is too a part of a rediscovery process. Last seen in 1890, a team of botanists rediscovered it after almost 100 years. This rare medicinal plant was found in the upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. The botanists of Botanical Survey India added one more beautiful flower to India’s bucket through their rediscovery of Rebe.

 

Some local tribes of Arunachal Pradesh such as Bakchurbu use this flower to treat their stomach problems and dehydration issues.
